In a previous post, we had addressed the hundred name hymn
of Dhoomavathi Devi. Here, we will present the thousand name hymn.
Dhoomavati Devi teaches us to look beyond the obvious and
get wisdom. Years ago, when I was between twelve and sixteen, we used to walk
about a mile to go from our house in Rajkot, India to a Hanuman temple. The
temple was by the side of a cow farm which supplied milk to the community. The
priest at the temple was an old woman. I can vividly picture Her even now as
She used to give us prasadams. I did not realize then, but now I feel She was
the embodiment of Dhoomavati Devi; She was extremely compassionate, wore a
white saree, had frail hands and always gave us blessings. That is the Grace of
Dhoomavati Devi !
The Dhoomavati Sahasranamam is a thousand name hymn in praise of Goddess Dhoomavati and
is really beautiful. I must give credit to Kishore, my brother-in-law for
providing me this stotram. It gives me joy to listen to it and hopefully you
will enjoy it too!

In the stotram of both the Shatanama and the Sahasranama of Sri Dhoomavati Devi, Sri Pippalada Maharishi states that by listening or reciting, the "Maha Bhaya" which means "Great Fear" will be eliminated; additionally, "fear of prisons" will be eliminated; also, "enemies will be overcome" -- enemies could be external or internal, the latter being more destructive to ones peace and well-being. Dhoomavati Devi represents wisdom that comes with age.

Namaste Shri Jani: It has been almost a year since your first request; it has not been ignored !! However, the problem faced is that printed material seems almost non-existent and most of what is on the internet in this regard is written with obvious and careless errors with significant doubts arising in the mind regarding the authenticity. There have been some sites where you yourself have commented disputing what was presented by the author there. While postings are not that frequent here, what is here is authentic and done with the highest level of devotion available. One should not bring down the highest levels of knowledge attained by the Great Maharishis to a level where people argue, debate and call names to each other with some having hidden commercial agendas. It is due to this adherence to high authentic quality levels that the mala mantra has not been presented here in audio form. The heart feels extremely disappointed in providing this disappointing reply; hope this is received with love. May the Great Goddesses bless all beings everywhere !
