Dhoomavati Mala Mantram Audio

At the request of Sri Ashutosh Jani, a visitor to this blog, here is the audio of Sri Dhoomavati Devi Mala Mantram. Sri Jani had commented over a year ago with this request. Unfortunately, this mantram is very rare and the internet has versions of the mantram that are full of errors and some are downright erroneous. Hence the significant delay in this post. Sri Jani was gracious enough to scan and send the authentic version from Rudrayamale tantra and that is what is presented here. As one may know, Sri Dhoomavati Devi is one of the Dasha MahaVidyaas and provides Divine Knowledge.

The whole hymn is less than 3 minutes long and for such a short hymn, it is extremely powerful. The Hymn describes the qualities of Dhoomavati Devi and then proceeds to ask for boons and blessings including destruction of enemies and removal of all diseases due to various causes. And the finale of the mantram is through a series of powerful bija-aksharams ( seed syllables ) requesting for quick arrival and protection ! The credit for providing this wonderful Hymn goes to Sri Jani and the enormous bliss attained during this recitation cannot be expressed in words !

The breakpoints in the recitation can be followed by observing the markings in the lyrics for the benefit of the listener / reciter. A copy of the original mantram with the break points shown are in the link to the lyrics at the end of this post.  This is available in Sanskrit only.
This is a short hymn. 2.14 MB

And now the audio: 2 minutes 20 seconds long.

  2. Sir - in addition to the prayers to Dhoomavati (Dhumvarahi) Devi, Pippalada Rishi also gave the Shri Mahakala Shani Mrityunjaya stotram. It would be wonderful if you could also kindly recite this!. Thank you very much!

  4. And Namastey to you Mr. Raghavan,
Thank you. I’m glad I was able to convey my appreciation. I’ve never commented before but I just had to thank you.
There is another version of Ma Dhuma’s Ashtakam. (Ashtaka Stotram) It’s a bit different from the one on your blog, it’s told by Lord Shiva as well. I’d be more than happy to mail it to you.
I’ve added this Maala to my Google Drive and I’m happily listening to it while contemplating on Mother.
Hope you have a lovely day.
