Lalita Stava Ratnam is quite a complicated treatise written
by Sage Durvasa. This is a detailed description of the structure of the Sri
Chakra yantra in the form of Maha Meru. The inspiration to recite this
phenomenal stotram came about from reading an article that dealt with an
upanyasam of Sri Kanchi Maha Periyava, wherein He had praised the Lalita Stava
Ratnam, which also goes by the name of Arya Dvishathi, as it comprises of 214
verses. As one listens to or recites Lalita Stava Ratnam, one
can envision Goddess Lalita Maha Tripura Sundari and All of the associated
Devis and Yoginis of the Sri Chakra.
This is a complicated set of mantras; during recitation,
some errors were found in the original first printed source given below; hence
comparisons were made with the second printed source given below; inspite of
this, it is believed there are a couple of printing errors.
This is a long hymn. The key in the recitation is to know
where the break points in the lines are and the intonations as to where to go
high and low on the recitation so it sounds nice. The audio skips through the
nyaasams in the beginning and goes straight to the hymn. Because of age, you
can find the voice becoming somewhat weaker towards the end of the recital.
And now the audio: about 1 hour long.( Mobile devices: click download; then play.)
NOTE: BECAUSE THIS IS A VERY LARGE FILE ABOUT 57 MEGABYTES, YOU WILL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD AND THEN LISTEN. On mobile devices and some computers, you may get the message -- This file is too large for Google to scan, download anyway? -- You will have to answer "YES" and then listen after download. On some computers, when you hit the play button, if nothing seems to happen, click the Download arrow at the top, click download anyway and then listen. Sorry for the inconvenience -- but this is a big file and praise to Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari Devi -- Her Grace is magnificent !
There have been some errors in the audio pronunciation as
given here:
Verse 10/2nd line: Mispronounced as “Ma” instead
of “Maa”.Verse 46/1st line: Mispronounced as “Lo” instead of “Lee”.
Verse 116/2nd line: Mispronounced as “mala” instead of “lama”.
Verse 124/2nd line: Mispronounced as “Lo” instead of “Lou”.
Verse 126/2nd line: Mispronounced as “Maavanthu” instead of “Maamavanthu”.
Verse 181/2nd line: Mispronounced as “Vindhyaam” instead of “Vidhyaam”.
Verse 188/2nd line: Mispronounced as “Shobha” instead of “Shobhi”.
Verse 204/1st line: Mispronounced as “Mey” instead of “Maam”.

Respected Sir,
ReplyDeletewhat is the reading procedure for Lalitha Stava Ratnam. Can anyone and everyone read this. Please let me know.
Thank You
Veena
Namaste Shreemathi Veena:
DeleteAdiyen is NOT qualified to advise; whatever is said is only a opinion. It is felt that ANYONE and everyone can read/recite/listen to this great hymn in praise of the Goddess - man, woman, any caste any stage in life. As far as procedure, during learning to recite or during listening for pleasure, one can do just one part, one verse, or portions of parts; however, if one sits in front of the Goddess in a puja room, puja area or temple and wants to offer to the Divine, then it must be done in FULL. Since this is a long treatise, one needs to set aside enough time, so that one is not rushed to complete - rather does the offering in a nice and relaxed manner, imagining the Sri Maha Meru in one's heart.
As a sidenote, the very desire to peek into this Great Shloka in itself is a blessing from Sri Maha Tripura Sundari and you are certainly blessed.
May Goddess Lalita Maha Tripura Sundari continue to shower Her Blessings on you always !!!
Sir,
Deletethank you for your response and kind words. I read Sri Lalitha Stavaratnam today, with the help of your recording. thanks a lot for the recording. Need your blessings and blessings of all divine souls here to continue with this journey.
Namaste Shreemathi Veena:
DeleteYou ALREADY have the blessings of the Divine Souls; without THEIR "Anugraham", one would not even develop a desire ("Ichcha Shakthi) to travel this path. This is a beautiful journey and may Shri Maha Tripura Sundari Devi make every step of your way blissful !!
Respected Sir,
ReplyDeleteMany thanks again for posting this gem.
Every navaratri, I try to chant this at least once.

ReplyDeleteI have been doing sahasranama parayanam everyday. Thanks to that, there is a constant urge to know HER more, and spend more time on HER. I’m blessed to have stumbled across your post. Would you be able to conduct classes? If yes, I’d be very happy to learn from great souls like you. Thank you.
-Gayathri
Namaste Sri Gayathri: Similar to you, I know of a family friend that does the Sahasranama every day; slowly, she advanced spiritually and reached great heights.
DeleteHence what you are doing is of Great Value !
I am a nobody and not qualified to conduct classes, etc.
SHE HERSELF will guide you and merge you with HER !
That's why SHE IS the Maha Devi !!!
