My wife had made a trip to India in January 2015 and had been to Thiruvannamalai. After the darshan, she wanted to buy a photo and so stopped at a store next to the temple. She was not particularly looking for any specific God's photo and came across a photo of Shree Kalika Devi. She kept aside and continued looking. A little while later, she came across the SAME photo. Again she kept aside and kept looking. Again, for the third time, she came across the same photo and said to herself, I must take HER home with me !! And thus, we ended up with the photo of Kalika Devi at our pooja room that is at the top of this post.
She has a very benevolent countenance; we call that a "Sowmya" appearance. I have performed Homams for Shree Kalika Devi using this very photo and I get filled with joy ! Kalika Sahasranamam, as the name indicates, is a thousand name hymn for Shree Kalika Devi.
